Bishop Joseph J. Norfleet
Bishop Joseph J. Norfleet served several years as the Chairman of the Leadership Council for the 1st Jurisdiction of the State of Connecticut for The Church of God In Christ, Inc. In July of 1989 he and his wife Maddaline founded the Faith Center Church in Meriden, Connecticut where he serves as the Senior Pastor.
From 1992 - 2002 he served as Regional Overseer for the East Region of the AZUSA Fellowship of Christian Churches & Ministries. In 2000, by the leading of the Lord he founded the United Churches In Christ, Inc.
He has been married to Lady Maddaline A. Jenkins-Norfleet for over 34 years and is the father of four sons and one daughter.
He is the President of two Community Development Corporations: Channeling Youth for Change, Inc. and Compassion Connection of America, Inc. In 2005, he founded the Lady Maddaline Children's Home (named after his wife) in Guntur, India. This home provides care for 58 orphans.
Bishop Norfleet attended the Hartford Seminary and completed a course of study in ministry. He holds a degree in Criminal Justice & Security. He is retired from the Connecticut Department of Corrections with 20 years of service. He has held several distinguished positions including Director of Security and Warden. He is the recipient of two Humanitarian Service Awards. The first was presented by President Jimmy Carter in 1978, the second, in January of 2003 by the Detective James Matthews, Sr. Scholarship Foundation. Bishop Norfleet is also an accomplished Airplane Pilot. Most of all he is an anointed vessel and servant of God.
